As we move through the summer term, we know many of you are planning internal assessments for your Year 12 students. To support you in this, we want to highlight a range of resources available now, so you can assess with confidence and clarity.

🔍 Please note: The mark schemes for the 2025 8MA0 papers will not be released until 15 July.

If you're looking to assess students before then, we recommend using the following alternatives, all of which come with mark schemes already provided:

  • 8MA0 Mock Sets - Designed to mirror the style and challenge of live assessments.
  • 8MA0 Shadow Papers - Adapted exam papers with altered contexts and numbers. They assess the same content as the originals, use the same grade boundaries, and come with student-friendly mark schemes
  • Skills Maps and ExamWizard - Using the Skills Map you can identify key skills across the curriculum that you want to assess and select appropriate questions to create your own bespoke assessments in ExamWizard using past paper questions, complete with mark schemes.

These tools are designed to give you flexibility and control, whether you're running full mock exams or shorter, skill-focused tasks. They also support consistency in marking and help students build familiarity with exam-style questions.

Introduction to AEA Worksheet – Available from Monday 30th June! 🧠✨

We know that stepping into the world of Advanced Extension Awards (AEA) can feel like a big leap for many students. That’s why we’re excited to share a brand-new resource designed to make that first step a little easier.

📝 What is it?

The Introduction to AEA Worksheet offers a gentle yet meaningful entry point into AEA-style questions. It’s perfect for:

  • Students who are curious about AEA but haven’t encountered the question style before.
  • A Level Mathematics learners who are ready for an extra challenge and want to stretch their thinking.

💡 Why use it?

This worksheet offers valuable practice and is a confidence builder. It helps students:

  • Develop familiarity with the AEA format.
  • Build resilience and problem-solving skills.
  • See what’s possible beyond the standard curriculum.

Whether you’re supporting high-attaining students or simply want to offer an enriching extension activity, this resource is a great addition to your curriculum.

The Introduction to AEA worksheet will be available in the practice material cabinet on the Maths Emporium from Monday 30th June.

At this time of year, awarding organisations receive lots of reports about websites and social media accounts claiming to have 2025 live assessment material available for sale (exam papers, mark schemes).

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind our centres that any student found to have accessed or participated in the sharing of 'leaked' examination material will receive sanctions.

Help us to protect the integrity of our assessments by reporting these accounts. Contact us via pqsmalpractice@pearson.com
