In June, we will be sharing strategies for approaching 'd' questions to support teachers in the next academic year. Additionally, we will provide further guidance on the resources that we have recently shared in preparation for this exam season.

This online training will be delivered by myself and the Product Manager for Religious Studies. The training is intended to support teachers who are delivering Pearson Edexcel GCSE Religious Studies A and B specifications.

Please, join us: 17 June 2025 16:30-17:30 BST

In this event you will:

  • be reminded of the changes made to our d/evaluation question mark scheme
  • be offered a series of teaching and learning strategies designed to support students with this question
  • explore our newest exemplar pack to see how various students have used appraisal within their answers
  • learn about the support we have available for GCSE Religious Studies

Teaching and Learning Resources

Every month, we release an edition of 'Topic of the Month' with the aim of supporting cultural capital and stimulating discussion within the classroom.

This resource ties a current news event to our qualification content and enables students to see the bigger picture of what they are learning and how it relates to the world around them.  Each edition includes a link to an article alongside some key discussion questions to encourage thought around the subject.

This month’s topic relates to the Bishop of Oxford's emphasis on the importance of truth and ethics in shaping the future of news and journalism

Topic of the Month May 2025

At this time of year, awarding organisations receive lots of reports about websites and social media accounts claiming to have 2025 live assessment material available for sale (exam papers, mark schemes). We wanted to take this opportunity to remind our centres that any student found to have accessed or participated in the sharing of 'leaked' examination material will receive sanctions.

Help us to protect the integrity of our assessments by reporting these accounts. Contact us via pqsmalpractice@pearson.com
